I’ve decided on the theme and artist for the relationships photography project so now I’ll do some research.
Artist: Jackson Pollock
Photographers: Duane Michals, Paul Strand and Ralph Eugene
I’m going to choose three to five of Pollocks paintings to represent and show influences from Duane Michals, Strand and Ralph Eugene. I’ve chosen to look at these three because Michals has a style that will alow me to use triptychs to show the layers of Pollocks work, Strand because of the work in the Light and Shade project, liking how his politics shows through into the work. Ralph Eugene tried to represent abstract expressionism in his photography and although this is something that people say cannot be done by definition almost I’m still going to look into his work to see what I can learn from it.
