Website Design Beyond Belief
I used to design websites and as a start up I offered a few free sites to local businesses to get myself known, the weird and wonderful things I encountered ranged from “I don’t need a website because I don’t want to grow my business” through to “How come you don’t charge [xxx] like [such and such]“. I don’t think I’ll ever understand a business not wanting to grow for free but the other, low cost, was something I couldn’t get my head around to start with. It seemed that because people didn’t understand and everyone else was expensive that’s how it should be, the cost I mean. I still see it today, only a little while ago, a local ‘web designer’ offering web design to schools and businesses a low quality designs of about 15 to 20 pages for £500. Now, I don’t mean to be rude but it is possible, with little or no design skill what-so-ever to put together a 1000 page plus site for as little £50 a year, which might cost as much as £10,000 on the above site. The £50 also being a conservative figure since this very site costs less than that to design, to be fair I have spent many months adding content and a whole afternoon to design but if a business has it’s information readily available then there is nothing to suggest it wouldn’t take a few days.
So if you are looking for web designs in Gainsborough Lincolnshire then here’s what I suggest, either:
Get a pre-packaged generic site such as Mr Site, which if you want nothing more than to present your business online is fine, or find a host and install something like wordpress. You know how easy it is? If you can follow instructions, you can design a website.
