Today’s Photography

jumpingI got what I’ve been looking for today in photography, how to develop the sketchbook. I haven’t a clue so far and have asked before so I was very glad to have almost a whole lesson devoted to it. There is a process and it isn’t simply like a scrapbook as I’ve been doing it. I don’t really want to re-start the whole book so I’m simply going to make a defining line in it and apply how it should be done from here on as well as include this post and the notes from today. Essentially the process is….

The Brief Annotate and add to sketchbook
Ideas List some initial ideas
Research Research the photographers from the brief
Influence Note the things liked about the photographers and signpost or star the one relavent to the brief
Ideas List ideas for your own project
Plan The Shoot Plan what it is that’s going to be done, equipment needed, check the weather the time and note what film to use or whether to shoot digital
Shoot Go out and take pictures
Process Process the images, either in the dark room or the computer, makeing sure to use contact sheets
Evaluation What was achieved?  was it what was wanted?  Did it meet the brief?   What do you like about it?
Presentation Is it going in the book or to be mounted?
