Continuation
The rest of the classes today, English and Photography. Both lessons, really were a continuation of the work we’ve been doing. In English we looked at the relationship between Heathcliff and Cathy and discussed how it’s being defined in the first few chapters.
Apart from the initial shock from Catherine (for the loss of her whip for her horse) we’ve seen that her and Heathcliffe have become friends, the sort of adventurous and mischievous friends we can be as children. This is much to the annoyance of Hindley, Cathy’s brother, mostly because Heathcliff seems to have appeared from nowhere, Hindley’s father went out for the day and brought Heathcliffe back with him. Hindley calls Heathcliff ‘dirty’ and a ‘gypsy’ and somehow seems to be losing out on his fathers attention so when Cathy becomes Heathcliff’s friend, Hindley seems very pushed out of his sister’s and his father’s affections.
This doesn’t seem to bother Cathy because she’s having far too much fun ‘going wild’ on the moors and playing about with Heathcliff, who so far doesn’t say much other than ‘gibberish’.
Today, I had Photography before English and was happy to show a little about the pictures I’d processed and developed, this, however, didn’t last long because I’ve left my work in English, I simply hope it’s still there in the morning!
As with the other subjects in photography I’ve been developing more pictures (and will upload them another time). I seem to have the knack for developing, at least this roll of film, because other than a couple of others mine turned out just how they were suppose to, hence the self congratulation. Although the next time in photography won’t be developing because I need to choot more film I really enjoying this subject more than I thought I would and I’m hoping to go out this weekend (weather permitting) to take more shots for the Light and shade project.
