Taking Shots

I’m going out today with a camera to take some pictures. I received a letter from college about the photography course and they do want me to go in to speak with someone and take some pictures in with me. So although I already have a few (and it is only a few) here on the site I thought I’d take the opportunity to go get some more. My usual subject is decay and destruction, abandoned buildings, old ruins demolition sites, that sort of thing, since when I was last interesting in photography the places close to me looked a lot like that. I have thought this morning however, that those things seem to have changed and I’m struggling to think of a potential site to go get some pictures. Of course this makes for a better environment since the regeneration of the area is almost complete but it has left me without my usual subject matter so I’m not sure what sort of thing to take pictures of. I have a few of the items from previous times out where the buildings have been left for dead or demolished so I could do a sort of before and after but there aren’t many of them so I still need another subject. So far I’ve thought about close ups and faded backgrounds, a usual favourite in photography but I’m still left wondering. I’m sure something with inspire me so I’m simply going to take the camera, go out and wonder around. Fingers crossed!

Have you forgotten about Dunstall Walk? Plenty of decay there.
