Time Out

I’m not sure all this time out is really what I need, certainly I would rather be more active, so I have a few days out planned now and although I’ve (still) not read the books I’ve set myself I have been busying myself with a few things. Mostly with design and layout of the site and added plugins, different scripts etc and a new search function, adding the custom Google search with the simple radio button. I have the site as my start page but often find myself using the search bar on the browser to search online, now it can be done directly from the site, an improvement for me.

Another aspect of this online and computer based interaction producing and helping out with some pages for a friend who enjoys the challenge of learning code from the ground up. He’s been putting together a site of interest about cycling as well as a few other things. I’ve only been drawn away from the computer (and the music) by people coming over and insisting I go play in the garden (excuse me, magic garden) and although I welcome the relief since I can get carried away with coding if a script doesn’t work, even with my low level of knowledge I still try to understand a little.

Which brings me to the days out, going cycling is one of them, hopefully the weather here will stabilise long enough for the ground to be dry and the clouds to clear, this day out has been put back and back so many times now because of rain and various other things that I’m looking forward to going even more than I was before, the exercise and company will be great and, again, a relief from the screen in front of me.  I’m also having that traditional English day out too, a trip to the sea side, the coast isn’t all that far from here so we can get the train there or hire a car to go for a swim in the ….err… North Sea.  Not being a great swimmer I doubt I could make it to Amsterdam!  I imagine we’ll be playing the ‘one arm bandits’ with coppers, eating everything plus candy floss and perhaps taking a few fairground rides.  Who need Vegas when there’s Scarborough, although we’ll probably be going to Cleethorpes or Mablethorpe.

On another note, I haven’t heard anything from college, not sure when the results are out or how to get them, nothing about the Photography course I applied for, although I’ve already had an interview I did think they would want to see some work produced, still, since I haven’t had the days out yet I don’t have much to provide them with.  I don’t know the date the new term starts or when the lesson times are.  If I don’t hear from them soon I’ll call them up, simple really but I was told there would be information in the post.

The college has told me about my Book Keeping course but then had they neglected on that point, it would have been – at best – ironic!
