Form

Yet another lazy day, I shall be glad for the weekend and days out. Not wanting to bore with details of cleaning up and lack of sleep, since when the holidays come I’m at a loose end. Although the time is about right to start reading the books I have for the new term, which are Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights and Christopher Marlowe’s Dr Faustus, along with something else I’m not sure about, regarding coursework. It seems I really do have plenty to be getting on with.  Still, along with watching the back catalogue of Black Books from the channel4 4oD service (which thankfully is now really ‘on demand’ since it can be watched via a browser and I don’t have to download some non-functioning piece of software that I don’t want and wasn’t supported on my operating system, even with the emulation layer, although that’s another story) and this recent update and design of the website which has consumed me even though there isn’t that much to it but design and layout, colourings and code that are precise, so I know that it’s only my level of skill that keeps me from making the site as I want it, what I mean here is all the things I can dream up in terms of design are possible from a technology point of view. Perhaps I shouldn’t limit myself in this way. Anyway, I’m not a design student and I enjoy the challenge but wouldn’t want design in this way to become a larger part of who I am, I have the photography for that.

Where was I? Yes, clearing out the old things from college and keeping what I need for the new term and preparing with notes the teacher gave out before leaving at the end of term. I also called the college today to ask about the ‘buzzword’ for filling out the UCAS entry form. I started and have nowhere near finished, though I don’t suppose it should until at least getting back to college. I have to think about a personal statement which should include but is not exclusively about interests and hobbies, reasons for applying, work experience, it’s almost like a job application form except I can be more open about the reasons instead of saying something like ‘Well your stand on corporate social responsibility is ….’ knowing full well that given the choice I would rather work somewhere else, at least I’m positive in my attitude towards pessimism, hmmm. Another aspect of the form, as might be expected is which courses to choose and although I can could still change them the five I’ve gone for are;

I’ll continue looking at courses available that might fit better with what I’m looking for but these seem to do the trick from what I’ve read, I’ll certainly be looking forward to the University vists and interview and I’ll save the reasons for these courses for another post after some more of Black Books.
