The Best Explanation
Design arguments may be from analogy or they may be inferences to the best explanation. An example of the latter is the intelligent design theory. It has been said that this theory is not scientific as it is not testable, unlike evolution which has been supported by later descoveries in genetics. Characteristics of good thoeries include simplicity. The idea that we should favour the simple explanations over complex one is know as Ockham’s Razor.
