- Ayers strong version of the answer to 11 is certainty obtained through observation
- Ayer’s weak version of the answer to 11 is facts can be established as probable
- Doubting everything in philosophy is scepticism
- Building up knowledge from basic certainties is foundationalism
- Incorrigible means not subject to correction
- The statement that our senses are held to be incorrigible
- Descartes explanation of why we are not dreaming now was dreams, like paintings, are based on reality
