Settle Down
I met my friend and we’ve had drinks and looks a bit like the pub toilet floor around here. Things went off a little differently to usual. We met up and started with tins of beer and a not so fine Bourbon, it was sweet, and that lasted for a few hours so in our already drunken state we went to the pub. This was less than successful, since after the first one we where somewhat drunk and were refused entry to almost every other place for being more stupid than drunk. My friend has stayed over and almost the same thing happened last night too although this time we had a bottle of wine as well as the scotch after going to the pub. I was wanting to clean up the place and finish my college work but now everything just looks like we had a bit of a party. I wouldn’t mind if we had. He’s gone out now but will be back later and I don’t really feel in the best state for anything at all. I have to clean up though and I really do want to understand that philosophy lesson from Friday.
Anyhow, I decided, since I’ve started using pictures in posts, to pick one of the photo’s I’ve used already for picture of the week.
I’m also happy this week to see an open-source firm accredited for schools. I still haven’t resolved the problem of using my own laptop at college so I’m glad to see the marketplace is changing. According to ZDNet.co.uk open source is seen as becoming ‘more mainstream’ and ‘a viable alternative to propriety software.’
Although more last week than this I did enjoy reading this post from Empowering Roots. It did remind me somewhat of my own childhood and kind people we sometimes meet. It’s fair to say that without such people I certainly wouldn’t be in the position to go to college as I am now so thank you for the reminding me I have much to be grateful for.
I was talking to a friend this week at college about silly signposts and road signs after hearing about the a ladder being stolen and a sign going up to say that the thieves should be careful because further steps will be taken. So I’ve been looking around for some funny signs to share after lunch. There is a few and I really like the sign for a ’secret bunker’ featured on a UK newspaper site.
